HomeMy WebLinkAboutCPC Minutes - 10 19 2010_201402061424155484MEETING MINUTES Community Preservation Committee Tuesday, October 19, 2010 3:15pm 2 Fairgrounds Road Conference Room Nantucket, MA PRESENT: Ken Beaugrand, Richard Brannigan, Mark Voigt, Linda Williams (arrived at 3:29), Michael Kopko, Channing Moore, Barry Rector, Maria Zodda CALL TO ORDER: 3:15PM Prior to our regular meeting, the last interview for funding was with Molly Anderson of the Nantucket Atheneum on their proposal for FY ’12 funding for $130,000. Mr. Beaugrand explained that this interview was being taped and all the members had read the proposal. Molly Anderson spoke on the project, titled: The Preservation of Nantucket Historic Resource-for the Inquirer and Mirror. She described the work to be done in detail and showed the members the old newspapers she brought with her from the 1800s that are stored in the library’s archives. Anderson stated that if they got this grant, the library is looking to start a contingency fund to maintain this project. This interview was recorded and is on tape in the CPC office at 14 Easy Street, Nantucket. Anderson left the meeting at 4PM. Mr. Kopko left meeting at 3:51pm and Mr. Rector left meeting at 3:56. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Agenda was approved APPROVAL OF MINUTES: September 21, 2010 motion made by Mr. Voigt seconded by Ms Williams with one change, the Chair directed Mr. Kopko to check with town council on the remaining mechanics of the contract between the Town and NHSC so that this stage can be finally concluded. CORRESPONDENCE: A. Letter from William Tramposch, Nantucket Historical Association. B. Letter from Paul Ruchinskas, Barnstable County Home Consortium. C. Letter from Jeffery Lockhart, Siasconset Union Chapel. D. Draft of CPC Grant Agreement with TON-Affordable Housing Trust GUESTS: Dreamland Reps. Lori D’Elia, Melissa Murphy, Jeff Stetina presented revised budget proposal from $500,000 to $325,000 FUND REQUISITIONS: a. South Church Preservation Fund /Brannigan $52,856 FY ’11. Motion to pay by Mr. Brannigan seconded by Ms Williams, positive vote followed b. Nantucket Rental Assistance/Beaugrand $7,591.85 FY11. Motion to pay by Ms Williams seconded by Mr. Moore, positive vote followed c. Habitat for Humanity/Beaugrand $5,105.84 FY11. Motion to pay be Ms Williams seconded by Ms Zodda, positive vote followed d. Housing Planner/Zodda $75.00, $300.00,$2,242.50 $8.99 $48.00 $12.34 $300.00 $55,000.00 $766.35 $9,800.00 $8,700.00 $4,784.81 $465.00 $203.00 $400.00 $200.00 $18,768.64 FY11. Motion to pay by Ms Zodda seconded by Ms Williams, positive vote followed OLD BUSINESS: Rev. Snell-Nantucket Human Service Center. This was tabled until the next regular schedule meeting. Mr. Brannigan stated that the BOS and Town Administration have an obligation to the CPC, the NHSC committee, and the Community of Nantucket at-large as to why the site control (lease) has not been completed. A motion was made by Mr. Voigt seconded by Mr. Brannigan to have the letter from Mr. MacEachern along with the letter from Mr. Beaugrand and all corresponding e-mails that took place from July 30, 2010 thru August 3, 2010 between the AHTF and Finance Department attached to the August minutes. The motion was approved with Ms William opposed. NAHTF & letter from Mathew MacEachern. NEW BUSINESS: Set date for final determination for grants for FY ’12. PLEASE BRING YOUR CALENDER!!! PLEASE BRING YOUR DATEBOOK !!! OTHER BUSINESS: Fiscal Planning Review for FY12. ADJOURMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 4:45pm. The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 3:15 at 2 Fairgrounds Road, Conference Room, Nantucket, MA.
