Monday, September 13, 2010
Craig Room and Murray Room at the Founder’s Building
Present: Dick Moran, Jeanette Topham, Ellen Braginton-Smith, Whitey
Willauer, and Brenda McDonough
Absent: Mickey Rowland, Nancy Rezendes, and David Gray
Called to Order: 4:10 p.m.
Agenda: Mr. Moran stated, by unanimous consent we are adopting the
verbal agenda.
Minutes: 4:11 p.m.
August 9: Ms. Braginton-Smith motioned to approve August 9th’s
minutes, which Ms. Topham seconded, and all the remaining
present Commission members voted in favor of this motion.
August 10: Ms. Topham motioned to revise August 10th’s minutes
to be separated into two different sets of minutes: one for the open
session and one for executive session.
Topics: 4:16 p.m.
• Guide/Service Dogs:
The Commission members were wondering what is the difference between a
guide and a service dog? What is the definition of a companion animal?
The members were wondering what is simple majority?
4:20 p.m.
Ms. McDonough told the Commission that she filed a complaint with the DOJ
regarding the post office door that does not comply with the federal access
laws.
Executive Session: 4:25 p.m.
Mr. Moran stated that the Commission would not reconvene after the
executive session. A vote was taken to go into executive session, and Mr.
Moran, Ms. Braginton-Smith, Ms. Topham, and Mr. Willauer voted in favor
of the vote.
