Jeanette motioned to approve the minutes, which Dick seconded, and the remaining Commission members present unanimously approved this motion. Topics: • Permits Jeanette motioned to approve a one-year parking permit, which Nancy seconded, and all the remaining present Commission members voted unanimously in favor of this motion. Ellen motioned to approve a three-year parking permit, which Nancy seconded, and all the remaining present Commission members voted unanimously in favor of this motion. Jeanette motioned to approve a permanent parking permit, which Ellen seconded, and all the remaining present Commission members voted unanimously in favor of this motion. • Parking Patrol: Brenda e-mailed Chief Pitman regarding the parking patrol and he said that Lt. MacVicar handled the parking tickets and he would have Lt. MacVicar get in touch with Mickey. The police department is allowed to ticket in private parking lots. Mickey told the members that Lt. MacVicar preferred that the Commission members call any violations that they witness into the police station and the police will dispatch an officer to the appropriate parking lot to issue a ticket to the violator. Lt. MacVicar believes that there will be less of a problem if the police actually do the ticketing. He also mentioned that the public will see the police officers ticketing in the parking lots and that this could be a deterrent to parking illegally in a disable parking space. • Other Items: 1. Brenda informed the Commission of her conversation with the architect for the new front entrance of the post office that doesn’t meet the access code. Brenda will keep in contact with the architect to see how the post office decides to resolve compliance with the 521 CMR. 1 Whitey was wondering if the post office’s inside vestibule met the accessibility code. Mickey will look at the vestibule and the interior doors. 2. The Pacific National Bank still does not have any signage at their inaccessible entrance. Brenda will contact Tom Hopkins to see where the AAB stands with this complaint. 3. Brenda informed the Commission that 16 Federal Street received their variance for not providing access to the second level, and 1 Hooper Farm Road received their variance for their accessible bath’s dimensions. 4. Brenda was asked to look at the parking lot at Nantucket Commons to see if they have the correct number of accessible parking spaces, and that they are appropriately dispersed throughout the parking lot. 5. Brenda will look at Hen House parking. 6. Parking on sidewalks was mentioned once again at our meeting. Mickey said that this is something that he wants to take up with Traffic Safety. 7. Brenda will look at the hedges on the corner of Quaker and Milk Streets. She will also look at the bushes near the Basket Museum. 8. Whitey mentioned that there is insufficient disabled parking at the high school during election time. Dick motioned to adjourn the meeting, which Ellen seconded, and all the remaining Commission members voted unanimously in favor of this motion.
