Subject: Baxter Road engineering scope

The following is the engineering services necessary for evaluation of the continuance of
Baxter Road with regards to the ongoing coastal erosion of the Sconset Bluff:
For keeping Baxter Road at its present location:
1) Evaluate present slope conditions and rate of erosion, including a land survey.
2) Evaluate and advise the Town of the possibility of stabilizing the slope to protect
Baxter Road and utilities at its present location.
3) What are the slope stabilization options?
4) What are the permitting issues for each stabilizing option?
5) What are the costs of design, permitting and construction?
6) What is the timeline for design, permitting and construction?
7) Peer review and comment on coastal engineering proposal of Sconset Beach
Preservation Fund, including related land survey, analysis of potential adverse
effects, alternatives analysis, and mitigation measures.
For moving Baxter Road and utilities to a stable location:
1) Where is the stable location?
2) Create a design for the roadway and utilities to continue service to the Baxter
Road properties.
3) What takings are required?
4) What is the permitting required?
5) What is the cost of design, permitting and construction?
6) What is the timeline for design, permitting and construction?
