Tuesday June 25, 2019
I. Procedural Business
Call to order at 9:00 am.
Attending members: Chris Young, Kevin Kuester, Ben Normand
Staff in attendance: John Hedden, Land Use Specialist
Absent members: None
Late arrivals: Mark Cutone and Paul Wolf at 9:01 am.
Early Departures: Chris Young at 9:28 am.

4. Enforcement -
a. Surfside Crossing and African Meeting house freestanding signs. Some signs on town
property. According to the guidelines, political or public concern signage are allowed
for 30 days. Will reach out to town counsel for clarification. Draft letter to the Select
Board and/or HDC to initiate enforcement.
b. Using lights and neon lighting on Main Street to illuminate signs.
c. More welcome signs popping up. 1\1ike Burns spoke with the state about the
Nlilestone Road signs. They have agreed to remove them.
IV. Other Business/ Preliminary Reviews if Applicable
Pauline Proche from Egan Maritime Institute and the Nantucket Shipwreck and Lifesaving
Museum received a violation letter and requested guidance. The SAC suggested a master sign plan.
Discussion regarding event specific signs and enforcement through town departments.
John Hedden to reach out to DPW director and town administration.
