Charles Balas, Vice-Chairman, Diane Reis-Flaherty and Louise Swift.

Charles called the meeting to order at 4:05pm.
David updated the committee on the March statistics. He also noted that there
have been a lot of people stopping in the office this week because it is school vacation
week. Louise noted that many stores are not yet open for the season. The committee also
discussed the new restaurants that are opening up. This includes Pazzo an Italian style
which replaces Sfoglia and is owned by the same people who run LoLa 41. There are 2
more Italian style restaurants opening, Ventuno and Fusaro’s as well as Mark-Et which
replaces Daily Breads.
The Budget and Room’s Tax were the next items on the agenda. Kate also
reported that Town Administration wants Visitor Services to be involved with Park and
Recreation activities by shadowing Jimmy Manchester. He is still the administrator and
in charge of all activities although he now under the DPW Department. Charles asked
for approval to speak with Libby Gibson regarding the restrooms which was approved by
the Committee
The next item discussed was the Restaurant Association. Kate reported that the
last meeting was held in October when 50 people showed up.
Fireworks and T-Shirts was the sixth item on the agenda. Kate reported to the
committee that there was enough money raised to have fireworks for two years. An
anonymous donator has offered to pay for this years actual fireworks show. Kate also
noted that we are still selling T-shirts and the sales will be picking up as we move into the
season.
Staffing was the next item discussed on the agenda. Kate reported that the Town
has informed her that some people who had been laid off by the Town may “bump” our
staff. She also noted that there seems to be a lot of interest in the Information Aide
positions that were advertised in the paper.
New Business was the last item on the agenda. Kate reported that the Office is
now using a white board to offer a general Travel Tip of the Week. Many of these
suggestions come from the Staff. We will continue to use Twitter.
Charles adjourned the meeting at 4:45pm.
