Minutes
Meeting: Monday, April 9, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Town Hall Conference Room

1) RPF/IFB:
The Committee discussed that there had been no bidders for the 1st IFB. The 2nd
IFB has been put out and the new due date is April 26th. The Committee agreed that they
would meet the following Monday, April 30th at 3pm to review it.
The Committee discussed the letter that Mr. Stott had drafted to be sent to private
property owners to allow the Town to treat mosquito breeding areas and agreed to send it
out to the non-profit property owners –Land Bank, Conservation Foundation, Trustees of
the Reservation, Madaket Land Trust and Audubon.
Kara noted that she had just found out that the funding authorized at last year’s
town meeting would not be available until fiscal 2013, so the DPW will have to fund any
work done by the successful bidder during fiscal year 2012.
The Committee discussed the Civic Assoc. meeting on May 24 and possible
education ideas. Charlie agreed to make a start on a brochure to be used for public
education. It might be used for a public mailing in July. Ken will get a list of the
Associations for the Civic League.
2) Legislation:
The Committee discussed that Libby will be sending a package of Home Rule
petitions from Town Meeting 2012, including the Mosquito Control one, to the
Legislators so that they can be filed in the Legislature
Discussion also continued on the next RFP for someone (entomologist) to set up
the Mosquito Control program in anticipation of the passing of the Home Rule petition.
The minutes from the last meeting March 26, 2012 were approved.
Meeting was adjourned at 3:50 pm.
Next meeting is April 30, 2012 at 3pm in the Town Hall conference room.
