Minutes
Meeting: Monday, January 9, 2012 at 3:00 PM Town Hall Conference Room

1) RPF:
John and Sarah discussed the RFP scope of services that they have been putting
together. In the discussion it was decided to do 2 RFPs, one for larvaeciding this spring
and a second for someone to set up the Mosquito Control Program for Nantucket.
The RFP for larvaeciding would be on public land and any private lands that
allow the town to do the treatment. The Board split up the list of land trusts to contact
about sampling for mosquitoes and treating their properties.
Audubon: Sarah; Cormac Collier: Ken; Jim Lentowski: John; Bruce Perry: John;
Madaket Land Trust: Ken; Trustees of the Reservation: Helene.
After initial contact, a letter will be sent for their review and assent giving the town the
permission to go on their properties to sample and treat for mosquitoes.
2) Legislation:
Kara noted that Libby had contacted Town Counsel about the Home Rule petition
and acceptance of Chapter 252. No response has been received yet. Kara will try to set
up a conference call with Town Counsel for the next meeting on January 23 to discuss the
options.
The minutes from the last meeting December 12, 2011 were approved.
Next meeting is January 23, 2012 at 3pm in the Town Hall conference room.
