Action and Discussion: Review Draft Report and Funding Recommendations The minutes of December 6th, 12th, 17th and 19th were approved. This meeting is being held to clarify a few things and to review recommendations for FY14. The Nantucket Center for Elder Affairs had submitted a request for funds and then withdrew it. This can be a footnote on the report. Does the committee want to recommend funding beyond what is allocated? Funding requests this year totaled $395,500.00 and funding has been level funded at $317,883 for the past three years, also there were two additional requests this year. With cuts, the CRC made recommendations that totaled $332,000 which is $14,117.00 over last year. The CRC will make these recommendations with the increase. A motion to stay with recommendations, including the increase, was made and seconded, all members agreed. These recommendations are made by the Contract Review Committee (CRC) after meeting and interviewing all the agencies, and then they go to the Finance Committee (FinCom) for review, then the Board of Selectmen (BOS) for approval. It is important for the FinCom to see how the CRC came up with their recommendations; it is good for them to see documentation. Mary is working on the report for the FinCom that includes CRC funding history; community needs and rationale behind the CRC recommendations. The FinCom meeting is scheduled for Monday January 28th at 4:00 and then the CRC recommendation will be on the BOS agenda for February 6th. The final recommendations the committee made are: A Safe Place $45,000 Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention $ 4,000 Elder Services $13,000 Family Planning $ 10,000 Family & Children’s Services $110,000 MVY Community Services $12,000 SCC Legal Services $ 4,000 IFC Rental Assistance $30,000 IFC Food Pantry $34,000 NCH Social Services $50,000 Nantucket AIDS Network $20,000 TOTAL $332,000 The meeting adjourned at 1:20 Respectfully submitted by Ann Medina
