Procedural Business Call to order at 9:05am. Enforcement. 22 certified letters of violations were sent out in July. A Real Estate Agency located in the Old Historic District was received a $50 violation. A brief discussion about the Nantucket Tipping Point signs on private versus town owned property. The police removed the signs that were on town property. Would like to avoid this as setting a precedent. However, the guidelines state that they are allowed, to address public concerns but must be removed within 30 days. They have had them up more than 30 days. The courtesy notices which were sent out to downtown business have had a positive impact. Lighting issues have been addressed. The board discussed options for the Salt Box Restaurant by utilizing signage on the gable end of the building. During the height of the season, local mid -island restaurants must comply with the guidelines. NIR would like to sit down with the SAC to discuss their tenants use of signage and excessive lighting.
