Procedural Business a. Stephen Welch called the meeting to order at 3:20 PM b. Audio/Video Announcements: Stephen Welch c. Adoption of Agenda: Motion to Approve voted unanimously II. Minutes Review: N/A Approve: N/A Motion to Hold (Oliver) III. Public Comment: None IV. Unfinished Business 1. Discussion: Module — Fences, Gates, Railings & related Documents: Master Plan 2009, Nantucket Farms, Fences Make Good Neighbors, assorted pictures of fences, historical to present. Fence discussion will be broken into two topics: The first being where they can be used and what height is appropriate. The second being the style. The OFC decided to divide the areas into urban, suburban and rural. Urban areas: Fences maximum height 4 feet in the front and 6 feet in the rear. It was recommended that tall fences have plant material every third section. Page 1 of 2 Minutes for June 20, 2018, adopted July 11, 2018 Suburban and Rural areas: 6 foot fences with greater than 4 sections (32'ft +/ should have plant material every third section. The use of climbing hydrangeas were discussed versus wisteria or ivy due to the nature of the vines ripping lattice. Certain fences by height and style should be considered on a case-by-case basis. Those applications will go to a meeting for the board to discuss. Future topics to be considered are: a. Fences should follow the topography. b. Fences shall not be continuous without a "visual break". c. Fences in the OHD and SOHD should be appropriate to paint. d. OHD fence applications should never be on "consent". e. The fence illustrations could be the appendix. Gates: Should either be flushed with the fence or designed as a to promote a sense of entry by eliminating the gate or moving "in" from the fence The board discussed the presentation that Val Oliver made "Fences make good neighbors".
