APPROVAL OF AGENDA U Ur Approved Unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The February 21, 2017 minutes were approved with Blount abstaining. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT Candidates Day is scheduled for Saturday at 1:00 PM. Presentation on amendments to shellfish regulations postponed to April 4th meeting. Public Meeting on squid fishery closure scheduled for Wednesday at 11:00 AM. May 16 HSAB meeting will convene at 7 PM. MARINE DEPARTMENT REPORT None NATURAL RESOURCES REPORT None PUBLIC COMMENT ON MARINE DEPARTMENT / NATURAL RESOURCES REPORTS None OLD BUSINESS 1. Grey water discussion - Nantucket Shellfish Assn. also working on this issue. Member Lowell expressed concerns about what is actually being done. Boat basin and town pier do not pump much during season. Member McClure suggested that the Board prepare a list of questions that Marine Dept. will be asked to answer. Member Kuntz asked what law was applicable. Chairman proposed workshop session on the issue. 2. NOAA Grant - Member Kuntz asked that we press staff on status of grant requests. 3. Green Crabs - Chairman sits on Bio- diversity Committee and states that grant funds are available. Member Kuntz mentioned the recent Conservation Foundation presentation. 4. Dredges Design - Member Kuntz stated that everyone who is researching the issue agrees that existing design tears up eelgrass beds and several groups are working on alternate designs. More work including testing needs to be done. NEW BUSINESS Member Blount lead an extended discussion on the squid fishery issue and the proposal to close fishery out to 3 mile limit. He is opposed to a closure that prohibits dragging. PUBLIC QUESTIONS AND COMMENT None RECAP and ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING Dredging, Eelgrass, Green Crabs, Grey water.
