Building at 7:30 P.Mi on October 11, 1972. ~ Selectman Small was,~ not present.
The minutes of the meeting of October 4, i972 ~W~e read.and· approved.
Warrant # 41, in the 'amount of $178,008.27 was approved by the Board.

Letter from Mr. Ted strong thanked the Selectmen for acting On his complaint
of a private dumping problem. ,
Board also received thanks from Nildred Giles for prompt action on marsh land
in Madaket. :
Letter from Mrs. Frances Moriarty, 78 Centre, ~sking 20'm:p.h. SPeed limit be
set for the Cliff Road area. Board voted to have this included in the survey
o£ streets to be Considered for adjusted speed limits.

Application from Gohn Arno, dba Vin~ent's Pizzeria, for seasonal wine and mai%
beverages license. Board voted to request Nr. Arno to resubmit his request in
the spring. : .....
Attorney Nichael Driscoll ~ead ~a~ account'o£ a meeting held with ~Ch~irman Haley
and Selectman Whelden and the fishermen in question on October ~,'1972, ~ith
further clarification of the situation and defense of~h.e men in general.
Dr. Voorhees submitted the~ name of Selectman Arnold small for c~nsideration as
Executive Secretary, ' stating that he~ felt Mr. Small could do the ~ob in a very
satisfactory manner, but modesty would prevent Mr.~ Small from expressing any
interest in the position. ~ Board Voted to consider the suggestion.
~. ~,r-~ 'Lindle~' read a let't~r stating that'~'the~' 1 ,o00th bgys' ~lub had been
opened and asked the Selectmen to proclaim Boys' Club Week this week. Chairman
Haley asked the 'press to note this for publication.'
The meeting Was' then~ adjourned and reconvened in ~ex~cutive session.

Board received a letter'of resignation from Mr;' Howard Jelleme as a member of
the Finance Committee and voted to forward a letter of appre, ciation~ , to him for
his years of service. ,
Letter from Gloria Swain Betz asking how owners of proper%y zoned "Forever
Wild" can be reimbursed for loss of proper%y value. Beard voted to inform
Ms." Betz the Kennedy Bill' revisions are being discussed and if she ~dll indicat,
where her proper%y is,' we can tell her more about the category.
~e Board of Selectmen, Town counsel ~oglia*"members of the Planning Board,'
members of the Madaket Conservation Assn., .the Building Inspector, met with
Mr. Lindsey Perr~ and his attorney to discuss construction at Madaket by the
Madaket Realty Trust ~nd compliance with the State' Sanitar~ Code in re~ard to
inst~llation of septic tsmks and wh~t compliance was necessar~ to meet the
zoning regulations. One problem discussed was a report of ~acceptable water
s~ple taken from the ~ea of %~ite Goose Cove ~d the necessity, of ha~ng
tests made to discover the source. Do~ld Visco offered to assist ~th dye
tests to locate the source of pollution. "' Mr. Per~ retained 8 Disposal Works
Const~ction Pe~its,~ to be resubmitted in proper fo~ in accord~ce with
Article XI of the State Sanita~ Code. Lot 375~ o~ed by Mr. Greenw°od,' was
to be checked out as a possible cause of pollution. Mr. Per~ agreed to put in
a well' for each unit, or each building, whatever the Board decided was
