ADDENDUM 6 & 8 MIACOMET AVENUE
This application is for a Special Permit Request in accordance with the Nantucket Zoning By-
Law Section 139 -18 Off Street Parking Requirements, Section D.
Relieve is requested from Sectionl39 -18 A (4) Required off-street parking spaces shall be
provided on the same lot as the principal or accessory use they are required to serve.
The project consists of 2 abutting lots (Lot A & Lot B) each with a proposed duplex.
An eleven -space parking area utilizing one driveway entrance is proposed. The required parking
for Lot A (6 bedrooms) is six spaces and the required parking for lot B (5 bedrooms) is 5 spaces.
Lot A shall have 5 parking spaces on the lot and 1 parking space on Lot B, hence, the requested
relief for an off - street parking space on another lot. Lot B shall have all required spaces on the
same lot.
Relief should be granted for the following reasons;
• The granting of such relief is in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the By-
Law because the proposed parking area shall meet the requirements for screening;
• Full compliance is physically impossible for the applicant to provide for the proposed
structure and number of bedrooms
• The granting of relief would not be contrary to sound traffic, parking, or safety
considerations.
