AIRPORT COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING
January 19, 2016
The meeting was called to order at 4:06 pm by Chairman Daniel Drake with the following
Commissioners present: Anthony Bouscaren, Jeanette Topham and Andrea Planzer.
Commissioner Arthur Gasbarro was absent.
The meeting took place in the 2nd floor Conference Room in the Nantucket Memorial Airport
General Aviation and Administration Building, 14 Airport Road, Nantucket MA.
Airport employees present were: Thomas Rafter, Airport Manager, and Janine Torres, Office
Manager.
Mr. Drake asked for comments on the Agenda. Hearing none, the Agenda was adopted.
Public Comment —None
Mr. Rafter announced American intends to add weekend service to LaGuardia beginning June 41h
through September 4th in addition to their Washington National destination using an Embraer
170 aircraft.
Mr. Rafter announced Jet Blue will be beginning service on May 4th.
Mr. Rafter handed out a draft of the revised FY17 budget for discussion at the February 91h
Commission meeting.
Pending Leases and Contracts
Mr. Rafter presented the following Leases and Contracts:
+ Maron Construction — $39,986 Contract to repair to the Terminal Arrivals Vestibule
damaged from February 2015 Fire Suppression pipe burst
+ Rectrix Aviation, Inc. — 2016 Terminal Airline Lease for $32,280.00 plus Annual
Business Fee of $1,500.00 plus Landing Fees. (Air Service Incentive Program not
factored in).
Ms. Topham made a Motion to approve the Rectrix Lease and Maron Construction Contract.
Second by Ms. Planzer and Passed unanimously.
1/19/16 Airport Commission Meeting
Having no further business for Open Session, Mr. Bouscaren made a Motion to go into Executive
Session, under G.L. Chapter 30 A, Section 21(a), Clause 3: to discuss strategy with respect to
pending litigation with respect to the completion of the GA Building. The Chair determined that
an open session may have a detrimental effect on the litigation position of the Airport
Commission. Second by Ms. Topham and Passed by the following roll -call vote:

Mr. Drake — Aye
Meeting adjourned at 4:12 pm.
