A Public Hearing of the BOARD OF APPEALS will be held on
FRIDAY, JANUARY 29, 1988 at 1:30 p.m. in the TOWN AND COUNTY
BUILDING, FEDERAL AND BROAD STREETS, NANTUCKET on the Applica-
tion of RAYMOND F. AND LYNDA S. ST. PETER (007 -88) seeking a
VARIANCE from the common - front -door requirement of SECTION
139 -8A(3) to allow conversion of an existing single- family
residence into a duplex; alternatively, a SPECIAL PERMIT under
SECTION 139 -7C to install an Accessory Apartment with a VARIANCE
from SECTION 139 -7C(c) requiring one main entrance on the front
or street side, instead, the one main entry to be in the rear.
The premises are located at 53 FAIRGROUNDS ROAD, Assessor's Par-
cel 67 -307, Land Court Plan 34507 -D, Lot 39, zoned RESIDENTIAL -10.

Applicant Seeks Variance relief under Section 139 -32A so that he may be exempt
from the requirement in 139 -8AC relative to a common front door in a duplex.
If relief is granted, applicant will be allowed to convert his building to a
duplex with a common door in the back of the structure. In the alternative ,
applicant seeks a special permit under Section 139 -30 to install an accessory
apartment pursuant to section 139 -7C, but relief is sought relative to the re-
quirement of 139 -7C(C) requiring only one main entrance on the front or street
side of the building.
