Any appeal from this action shall be made pursuant to Section 17 of Chapter 40A of the General Laws, and shall be filed within twenty (20) days after this date. William R. Sherman, Chairman BOARD OF APPEALS BOARD OF APPEALS TOWN OF NANTUCKET NANTUCKET, MASSACHUSETTS 02554 DECISION: At a Public Hearing of the BOARD OF APPEALS held on FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. in the Town and County Building, Nantucket, in the matter of the Application of CHARLES S. AND MONA M. GLIDDEN (031 -86) address 13 Waydale Road, Nantucket, MA 02554, the Board enters the following Decision and makes the following findings: 1. Applicants seek a SPECIAL PERMIT under zoning SECTION 139 -22H to install an employer dormitory within an existing residential building. The premises are located at 2 SALROS ROAD AT THE CORNER OF APPLETON ROAD, Lot 2 of Plan 66 -203, and zoned RESIDENTIAL - COMMERCIAL -2. 2. Based upon the Application paper, letters, testimony and repre- sentations, we find that Applicants purchased the premises January 9, 1986. Previously used for youth housing to excess, the premises were the subject of corrective litigation and zoning enforcement. Applicants assure us of an orderly management of the premises. The Planning Board favors an em- ployer dormitory (as we generally do). 3. Better to ensure that the proposed use will be in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the zoning chapter, we condition relief as follows: a. The employer dormitory shall be used exclusively by bona fide employees of Applicants (or either of them) or of Ap- plicants' employer /leasee of all or part of the premises. b. The Special Permit shall be personal to Applicants. c. Each employee shall be provided a separate bed, no bunks. d. Occupancy shall be limited to 8 persons (to 10, if and when Applicants obtain written authorization of the Board of -,. ;031 -b-6) . -2- Health or tie -in for Town sewer use). e. No other use or occupancy, overnight or other transient, shall be allowed. 4. Upon there conditions, the Board UNANIMOUSLY GRANTS to Applicants the requested relief by SPECIAL PERMIT.
