Minutes of meeting 10 A.M., SATURDAY, June 27, 2015, at
4 Fairgrounds Road
1. Attending: Lou Bassano, Howard Blitman, David Brown, Lucas
Fischer, Susan Matloff, Jay Strauss, and Tony Walsh - -- plus our
guest former selectman Bruce Miller. Members absent: Don Green,
Peter Kahn, Steve Meader and Bill Sherman.
2. ACNVT Chair Howard Blitman called the meeting to order at
10:00 a.m. The proposed agenda for the meeting was approved.
The minutes of the September 13, 2014 meeting were approved.
3. After introduction, Bruce Miller spoke of his concerns for the town
and specifically for Surfside. Topics included shortcomings of the
ATM -form of Town government, siting of the proposed new
hospital, Sconset bluff armoring, proposed 40B project out Old
South Road, and the proposed in -town bike bath.
4. Chair Howard Blitman expressed interest in having the ACNVT
look into alternative forms of town government appropriate for
Nantucket's population and status as a Town as well as a County.
5. He set the date of the next meeting for July 18, 2015, with speaker
to be determined.
6. The meeting was adjourned at 11:01 a.m.
