Called to order at 4:00 p.m.
Staff in attendance: Richard Ray, Health Director; Artell Crowley, Deputy Director Health; Terry Norton,

Attending Members: Malcolm MacNab, MD, PHD; James Cooper; Helene Weld, RN; Stephen Visco; Rick
Atherton, Board of Selectmen

Agenda adopted by unanimous consent
1. Bruce Hopper — Tick -borne disease education is file but what will it take for Nantucket to do something
about the deer herd. MacNab — Pointed out that management of the deer herd is easy to say but not so easy
to do. Reviewed efforts being taken to do that including: making it easier for the hunters to hunt deer and
working with property owners to allow hunting on their land. Atherton — Said he heard that Sunday hunting
had been approved statewide. Ray — The BOH can make recommendations, however, bringing it to fruition
lies in the hands of the state.

1. Ray — Stated this has been held; explained the reasons. A request has been made for this report to be
presented at the next meeting.
ORDER IV. CHANGE
1. Shared System Easement Document - Finback

Documentation Supporting documents and plans, staff recommendations.
Staff Recommendation is that this is acceptable.
Representative Marianne Hanley, Reade, Gullicksen, Hanley, & Gifford LLP, for owners — Change to size of
the septic easement area on Lot 12.
Discussion No concerns.

APPROVAL V. COMMUNITY SEPTIC MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
1. 19 Massachusetts Avenue — Davis Family, $58,000

Documentation Supporting documents and plans, staff recommendations.
Staff This is a year -round structure opting for an Alt tech septic system. Explained why the cost is so
high. Recommend approval. Tight tanks are approved for use for only six months.
Representative None
Discussion No concerns.

UPDATES
1. Video is finished and should be available within a couple of days. It will be distributed to organizations and
up on the website. Ray will speak to the Hy -Line and SSA. Jack Gardner suggested ensure the video is down -
loadable.
2. Summer Symposium is set for August 2 at 9 a.m. with Dr. Abrar Qureshi.
V11. HEALTH DIRECTOR'S O.
1. Housing issues and events are in the forefront. Working with property owners and managers so there are no
more condemnation orders. The condemnation order, which was issued at the June 19, 2014 meeting, had
been forcefully removed from the structure. Stated that he re- stickered the residence and is moving toward
court action.
1. Visco — Asked if the Hummock Pond Watershed deadline might be extended. Ray — Stated it is possible and
explained reasons for doing so; also looking to extending the Administrative Consent Order program into
that area. MacNab — Said he will submit a request for an addition health department employee to help with
that expanded workload.
