AIRPORT COMMISSION MEETING A N
Master Plan Open House �c
Thursday, August 15, 2013
The meeting was called to order at 5:11 PM by Chairman Daniel W. Drake with the following
Commissioners present: Vice Chair Arthur D. Gasbrro, David C. Gray, Sr. and Jeanette D.
Topham. Commissioner Andrea N. Planer was absent. Also present were Thomas Rafter,
Airport Manager and other airport staff members. Approximately 70 members of the public were
in attendance.
The meeting took place in Hangar #3 at Nantucket Memorial Airport, 14 Airport Road,
Nantucket, MA 02554.
The Commission consented unanimously to the Agenda
1. "Open House" available through 8:30 p.m.
2. Presentation and Question & Answer at 6:00 p.m.
3. Bus tours of Airport begin at 6:30 p.m.
Chairman Drake introduced key Airport, MASS DOT Aeronautics and FAA personnel who were
present. Airport Manager Rafter then gave a presentation on general airport matters and the
Master Plan process.
The comment and question period enabled members of the public to express their concerns and
suggestions. The principle topic of discussion was aircraft noise. There was also a question about
airfield lighting.
There being no further business, upon motion by Ms. Topham, seconded by Mr. Gray, and passed
unanimously, the meeting adjourned at 7:11 PM.
