MUND T-2 -92 NANNCXET 02554 Michael Kopko Nantucket Theatre Institute 5 North Water Street Nantucket, MA 02554 Mr. Edward Toole Chairman Zoning Board of Appeals Dear Mr. Chairman On May 9th, the ZBA approved a tent permit variance for the Nantucket Theatre Institute. That permit allowed the erection of a tent to be used as a theater for the summer season. The tent is allowed through September 15th, which was a condition of a variance from the ZBA. Our season has gone well, and we think that we add value to our neighborhood. We have recently agreed to participate in the Arts Council's Arts Week festival, which runs October 4th - 13th. We are requesting that our permit be modified, and that the tent be allowed to remain until October 15th, 2013. We understand that we will require an amendment to our MCD permit from the Planning Board, and have made application to that Board for that amendment Being able to use our existing venue will make it much simpler for us to provide programming during the festival. The programming will all be in accordance with all other existing conditions of our permit We have also offered the Arts Council the use of any of our space to facilitate any needs that they may have. We would be pleased to facilitate a site visit by you or any members and show you around Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to presenting to the Board.
