HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-3-26BOARD OF HEALTH TOWN OF NANTUCKET MINUTES — MARCH 26, 2008 NANTUCKET SUPERIOR COURTROOM MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Willauer, Ms. Roggeveen, Mr. Chadwick; Mr. Kopko, and Mr. Reinhard. MEMBERS ABSENT: None. ry Ul Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. AGENDA 1. Chairman Willauer asks for any concerns from the public. None noted. 2. February 27, 2008 Minutes approved unanimously. Variance Request — 1 and 3 Little Neck Way — repair of an existing failed septic system, in an area of high groundwater, will mandate use of an alternative design septic system — SeptiTech System and a Nitrex filtration unit with a drip irrigation system. HO Ray asks for a water flow indicator, a maintenance contract and testing of the system during occupancy which will be sent to the health department. HO Ray is asking that water meters be added to systems with private wells and nutrient reducing systems to be read by inspection personnel. HO Ray recommends granting of variance with stipulations. BOH unanimously agrees to granting variance. Variance Request — 15 Starbuck Road — an existing structure with septic system failure — seeking sideline setback reductions — repair meets maximum feasible compliance. HO Ray recommends granting variance. BOH unanimously approves granting variance. Variance Request — 51 Starbuck Road — existing structure with septic system failure — also seeking sideline setback variance — meets maximum feasible compliance. HO Ray recommends granting variance. BOH unanimously approves granting variance. 4. Carmody Septic System Tracking Program — HO Ray discusses a computer based program for the maintenance and testing of alternative septic systems being utilized by Barnstable County and many communities on the Cape. HO Ray asks for the Board's approval to buy into or negotiate with Barnstable County (for less than $1200.00) for the program. BOH unanimously approves his request. BOH adjourns at 6:20 p.m.
