BOARD OF HEALTH
MINUTES — SEPTEMBER 27, 2006
NANTUCKET SUPERIOR COURTROOM
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Willauer, Mr. Chadwick, Mr. Kopko and Mr. Bennett
MEMBERS ABSENT: None.
Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Concerns from the public. None noted.
Minutes from the August 23, 2006 BOH meeting unanimously approved.
AGENDA J'
1. Request for signatures for Sconset Hydrangea subdivision — HO Ray asks for
BOH signatures, all approvals on state and local level are met. BOH approves
request for signatures unanimously.
2. Request for waiver from Health Department policy on Westmoor Farm
subdivision — HO Ray states that these are undersized lots. Owner has not yet
brought in town water. Health Department policy is to not sign off on septic
permits until water is at the lot. If the BOH wants to grant waiver, HO Ray asks
that it be done on a one -time basis as there is money put aside by developer to
bring water in to subdivision. BOH approves waiver from Health Department on
a one -time basis unanimously.
3. Departmental Overview — HO Ray gives an overview of the Health Department to
the BOH.
4. Septic System Inspection Program — Nantucket Harbor — HO Ray shows on a map
the systems that have been inspected and the number of systems which have
passed and the number that have failed. There are 609 total properties in this
district; 205 have been inspected; 196 have passed initial inspection or systems
have been repaired after initial failure notification, 9 lots are currently in failure
and have not yet been repaired.
