HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-3-16BOARD OF HEALTH TOWN OF NANTUCKET MINUTES — MARCH 16, 2005 SUPERIOR COURTROOM MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Soverino, Mr. Watts, Mr. Murphy, Mr. Bennett MEMBER ABSENT: Mr. Glowacki r� Meeting called to order at approximately 7:00 p.m. Concerns from the public: None noted. Agenda 1. Approval of Minutes from January 5, 2005 and December 1, 2004 meetings. Motion to approve (Mr. Bennett) and seconded (Mr. Watts). Motion approved unanimously, with Mr. Glowacki absent. 2. Updating of Nantucket Board of Health regulations with respect to on -site sewage systems. HO Ray summarizes the Estuaries Project (anticipated availability in late 2006 or early 2007), and discusses Harbor Watershed Protection District and Madaket Harbor and Ponds Protection District. 3. HO Ray discusses DEP Wastewater Regulations update and its effects on both sewer and septic users. Wastewater management affects all properties on the island. Public hearings will be held on a statewide level and urges Board to adopt support of portions of the new Title V as soon as possible. The Board is informed of HO Ray's plan to express Nantucket's opinion at the public hearing. Ms. Fantozzi states that the department has had the revised regulations available to the public since November and urges the Board to be pro - active and urge the legislature to start the public hearings. Chairman Soverino: Asks for the consensus of the Board to have HO Ray and Ms. Fantozzi draft letter to the DEP for the Board. Unanimous consensus granted. BOH agenda is concluded. Move to adjourn meeting (Mr. Bennett), seconded (Mr. Watts). Meeting adjourned at approximately 7:50 p.m.
