State below or attach a separate addendum of specific special permits or variance relief applying for:
The applicant requests - relief by Variance from the provisions of
Nantucket Zoning By -law §139 -17.A, which require that the maximum
elevation of a structure above average mean grade, as defined in
the By -law, be 30 feet, with the maximum elevation on any one side
of the structure being 32 feet, in connection with the construction
of a new single - family dwelling. The locus slopes steeply; as per
the plan by Charles W. Hart and Associates, Inc., filed herewith,
with a differential of about ten feet in finished grade between the
front fagade (higher) and the rear fagade (lower) As a result, the
elevation of the highest ridge of the proposed structure above
average mean finished grade would be about 29 feet 4 inches, with
the rear elevation being about 34 feet 2 inches above finished
grade. The front elevation, facing Vestal Street, would be about
24 feet 5 inches above finished grade.
