IN ATTENDANCE: Mr.Soverino, Mr. Desrocher, Mr. Santos, Mr. Bender, Mr. Fee Meeting Called to Order -App. 7:30 p.m. Mr. Soverino - We are here to discuss proposed Board of Health Regulation 68.00 calling for inspection and upgrading of substandard soil absorption systems within the Nantucket Harbor Watershed Protection District. (copy attached) HO Ray - As discussed in our last meeting, the Harbor Watershed District has been divided up into two zones - Zone A is from the shoreline up to 1000 ft. back and Zone B is the remaining area in red on the GIS Map. This regulation is recommending that that all of the Septic Systems within Zone A will have 18 months to have their system inspected and a repair schedule set-up if that system is failed. Zone B, being less critical to the Harbor, will be required to have their systems inspected within 24 months, and upgraded if necessary. This all to ensure that some of the older systems in this district are not causing pollution problems in the Harbor. Mr. Soverino -Those inspected within the last two years are to be exempt? HO Ray -Yes, those that have been inspected and have a Certificate of Compliance on file with our office within the last twenty-four months. B.O.H. Approves the regulations as attached. No further business -Meeting adjourned at app. 8:10 p.m.
