Leddy, Jr., Chairman BOARD OF APPEALS TOWN OF NANTUCKET BOARD OF APPEALS NANTUCKET, MASSACHUSETTS 02554 Decision: At a meeting of the BOARD OF APPEALS held Friday, April 27, 1984, in the Town and County Building in the matter of the Application of Lyman S. A. Perry (021-84), the BOARD finds: 1. This is an Application for a SPECIAL PERMIT under Section 7(I)(1) of the Zoning By-Law (expansion of dwelling on non-conforming lot). The property is zoned Residential Old Historic. 2. The Applicant's property, located at 35 Union Street, is currently used as a single family residence. Applicants wish to build an addition onto the back of the house, said addition comprising 246 square feet of ground coverage. This addition will provide storage space for plumbing and heating fixtures as well as allowing applicants necessary additional living space without destroying the historical integrity of the existing house. No change of use is being asked for or is contemplated by the Applicants. 3. Based upon review of the Application, positive recommend- ations of the Planning Board and the Historic Districts Commission, and testimony at the Public Hearing, together with a view of the site, the BOARD finds that the proposed 246 square foot addition to the dwelling is in harmony with the character of the zoning district, will not have an adverse affect on the neighborhood and relief can be granted without violating or endangering the general purpose and intent of the By-Law. 4. For the reasons set forth, the BOARD, by UNANIMOUS vote, hereby GRANTS the Applicant a SPECIAL PERMIT under Section 7(I)(1) to allow the construction of the 246 square foot addition to the premises at 35 Union Street. ~ _ May 1~, 1984 L le L.
