This is an applicCltjon to rent three Cldditiona1 single rooms
to guests Clt 43 Center Street, Kantucket, Massachusetts. The
district is zoned RESIDENTIAL/ULD HISTORIC. The ClpplicClDt hCls
submitted some docurnentClry evidence that the property is a
pre-existing, non-confonning guest house use.

The BOClrd finc1s thClt 43 Center Street has been used as a
guest house prior to the enClctment of the Nantucket 70ninr
By-LClw. There will be no substantial increClse jn traffic and
no detrimental effect on the neighborhood if the reouested
relief is gr8nted. Renting an additional three sin~le fuest
house r00rns on the sub1ect premises will not constitute an
expansion of the use more substClnti81ly detrLnental I han the
existing non-conformiDg guest house use to the Center Street
neighborhood involved if Cldditional off-street pErking is
pruvidedby the applicant.

For the reClsons set forth, the Board f~nds that the relief
requested mClY be granted without detriment to the Deighborhooc1
and within the intent and spirit of the ZODing By-Law. There-
fore, the SPECIAL PERMIT to exteDd the non-coDfonnin[ use by
Cldding three single guest house rooms Clt 43 CeDter Street is
GRANTED by unanimous vote, upon the express condition th8t the
applicant provide three (3) Cldditional off-street p8rking
places in Clccordance with ~6B of the Zoning By-L8w, sub~ect
to inspectiGn and ClpprovCll by the Building Inspector.
