DECISION:
At a meeting of the BOARD OF APPEALS held Friday,
December 18, 1981, at 3:00 p.m. in the Town and County
Building, in the matter of the application of HOWARD
J. LAUNDRY, ET UX (051-81), after due deliberation, the
Board found:
1. This is an application for permission under SECTION
4B to permit the conversion of commercial garage space
to residential use and professional office space, for
property located at Thurston's Court in the rear of
25 Liberty Street in an area zoned Residential Old
Historic.
2. The Board finds this property is located in a fully
developed residential area, having closely-built houses
and many substantial homes. The present garage building
are about 40 years old and have limited value from an
economic or esthetic viewpoint. The proposed use would
amount to an upgrading of this property from commercial
garages to residential and professional use. The Board ~I
finds this use will be within the purpose and intent of
the by-law and will not be more detrimental than the
existing use to the neighborhood.
3. For the reasons set forth, the application for relie~
from the provisions of the zoning by-law to permit the i
conversion of garages on Thurstons Court to residential
and professional office use on Lot 2, Land Court Plan
No. 24627, in accordance with plans submitted, is
granted by unanimous vote.
