Mooney, Chairman NANTiICKF.T BOAF.n OF APPEALS BOARD OF APPEALS Nantucket, Massachusetts ~: DECISION: At a meeting of the BOARD OF APPFAI~S held Friday, December 18, 1981, at 3:00 p.m, in the Town and County Building, in the matter of the application of HERBERT R. VAN NESS (050-81), after due deliberation, the Board found 1. This is an application for relief under the new section of the Zoning By-Law to permit the construction of a storage area 24' x 8' on an undersized lot at 8 East Dover Street in an area zoned Residential 1. The lot has less than 5,000 square feet, being 42' x 68', according to plans submitted. The Applicant claims a need for additional storate and workshop space. 2. The Board finds this property is located in a fully developed residential area of small lots and close quarters, but one in which the neighbors live in harmony. The Board, therefore, finds the proposed use will not be more detrimental than the existing use to the enighborhood and will be compatible with the purpose and intent of the Zoning By-Law. 3. For the reasons set forth, the application for reli from. the literal requirements of the by-law, in accord- ance with the plans submitted, is granted by unanimous vote.
