HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-11-18 II BOARD OF HEALTH Minutes of the Meeting of 18 November, 1992 at 7:30 PM. The meeting took place in the Selectmen's Hearing Room, Town Building, Nantucket, MA 02554. Members of the Board present were: Wayne Holmes, Arthur Desrocher, Carl Borchert and Timothy Madden. Mrs. Sevrens was absent. Chairman Holmes called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. Approval of Minutes of 22 July 1992 at 7:30 PM: 29 Julv 1992 at 7:30 PM: 12 Auqust 1992 at 7:30 PM: 19 Auqust 1992 at 7:30 PM: 2 September 1992 at 7:30 PM: 9 September 1992 at 7:30 PM. Mr. Desrocher moved approval: seconded by Mr. Madden. So voted. Request for Installation of Humus Toilet in Dwellinq on Miacomet Pond Road. Chairman Holmes read a memorandum from the Health Officer regarding a request for the installation of a Humus Toilet, as required in 310 CMR: 15.17:, in a dwelling located at the end of Miacomet Pond Road. Health Officer Richard Ray explained that, although a fully code compliant in-ground septic system capable of supporting a one bedroom dwelling will be installed, the property owner wishes to mitigate any impact waste solids may have by installing a Humus Toilet and only allowing gray water to enter the subsurface disposal system. Mr. Desrocher moved approval as recommended by Health Officer Ray and the Board of Health Advisory Committee in conjunction with a gray water subsurface disposal system: seconded by Mr. Madden. So voted. variance Request from Nantucket Health Code for Property Located off of Squam Road. Chairman Holmes read a memorandum from Health Officer Richard Ray regarding a variance request from section 51.03 A of 51.00 Town of Nantucket Board of Health Septic System Regulations. Health Officer Richard Ray further explained that the subject property contained a failed septic system located within a wetlands area and a variance is requested for re-Iocation of the well. Mr. Desrocher moved approval as recommended by Health Officer Ray and the Board of Health Advisory Committee contingent upon the stipulations set forth in the memorandum dated Novemer 4, 1992: seconded by Mr. Madden. So voted.
