BOARD OF HEALTH
Minutes of the Meeting of July 22 1992 at 7:30 PM. The meeting took
place in the Selectmen's Hearing Room, Town Building, Nantucket, MA
,02554. Members of the Board present were: Wayne Holmes, Nancy
Sevrens, Carl Borchert, Arthur Desrocher and Timothy Madden.
Chairman Holmes called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.
Approval of Minutes of June 10. 1992 at 7:30 PM. Mr. Desrocher
moved approval; seconded by Mrs. Sevrens. So voted.
Hearinq on Private Well Construction Permit by Abuttinq Property
Owner. Keith Yankow, attorney for John and Susan Foley, explained
that his clients only recently became aware that the Federal
Deposit Insurance Corporation owned a lot on Arlington Street
! immediately abutting their lot. It was noted that Curtis Barnes,
Iprospective owner of the FDIC lot, had made application to the
,Board of Health for a variance to construct a well and waive
compliance of the 10 foot property line setback to allow placement
of the proposed leach at the property line. Attorney Yankow further
explained that if this variance was granted, his clients would be
I left with an unbuildable lot. Mr. Yankow requested that the Board
delay the FDIC's variance request for one week as his clients were
in the process of trying to work out an equable plan that would
I enable both lot owners the option to build. Mr. Desrocher moved to
,table the matter of the variance request for the FDIC lot for two
weeks in order for the interested parties to reach an agreement;
seconded by Mr. Borchert. So voted.
There being no further business
meeting was unanimously adjourned
