HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-01-02 BOARD OF HEALTH .. Minutes of the Meeting of 2 January 1991 at 7:30 took place in the Selectmen's Hearing Room, Building, Nantucket, MA 02554. All members of present: Chairman Bernard Grossman, Nancy J. Viera, Diane Coombs and Carl Borchert. Chairman the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. PM. The Meeting Town & County the Board were Sevrens, Wayne Grossman called Approval of Minutes of December 5. 1990 at 7:30 PM. Mrs. Sevrens moved approval of the minutes; seconded by Mrs. Coombs. All in favor. So voted. Discussion on Chapter Eiqht of Board of Health Requlations. Health Officer Richard Ray stated that he had received a complaint regarding guinea fowl being found on property other than their owner's. Mrs. Coombs stated that she felt the purpose of guinea hens was to allow them to roam and to eat ticks. Mr. Borchert noted that a problem with guinea hens is that they are extremely noisy. Mr. Ray asked the Board if a license should be required to keep guinea fowl. Mrs. Coombs moved not to license guinea fowl under Chapter Eight of the Board of Health Regulations; seconded by Mr. Viera. So voted. Mrs. Sevrens stated that if many more complaints were received, the situation would be reviewed again.
