BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
; The Minutes of the Meeting of April 18, 1990 at 7: 30 PM. The
:meeting was held in the Selectmen's Hearing Room, Town and County
Building, Nantucket, MA 02554. All members of the Board were
present with the exception of Diane Coombs. Chairman Grossman
called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.
Transfer of Funds to State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board.
The Board is requested to transfer $50,000 to the State Reclamation
and Mosquito Control Board from the DPW Mosquito Control budget.
Mr. Willett said the advantage of transfer of funds to the state
is it will ease the state permitting process. Ms. Sevrens said she
was concerned regarding turning the responsibility over to the
state if their standards are different. Mr. Willett said that once
the funds are transferred they can only be used for Mosquito
control. After further discussion, Mr. Viera moved to approve the
transfer of the amount of $50,000 to the State Reclamation Board
and Mosquito Control Board. Mr. Borchert suggested that a lesser
amount could be transferred. The Board requested that Mr. Willett
discuss the advantages further with the state. Mr. Viera withdrew
his motion. The Board generally agreed to table the matter until
next week's meeting in order to obtain further information from Mr.
Willett.
There being no further business before the Board, the Board voted
unanimously to adjourn at 7: 45 PM to reopen as the Board of
Selectmen.
