HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-09-13 II THE BOARD OF HEALTH/BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS The Minutes of the Meeting of Wednesday, September 13, 1989 at 7:30 PM. The meeting took place in the Selectmen's Hearing Room, Town & County Building, Nantucket, MA 02554. All members were present. Chairman Nancy J. Sevrens called the meeting to order at 7:32 PM. Approval PM; July 7: 30 PM: So voted. of the Minutes of August 17, 1989 at 4:00 PM; July 12, 1989 at 7:30 PM; July 19, 1989 at 7:30 PM; and Mr. Viera moved approval of the minutes; seconded Reading of the minutes was waived. 5, 1989 at 7:30 August 2, 1989 at by Ms. Coombs. Superceding Administrative Order No. 782: DPW Superintendent Jeff Willett was present to explain the superceding Order received from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Mr. Willett stated that the Order does not differ from the draft Order; and the moratorium continues to be in effect. . He stated that the Town cannot issue other Sewer Connection Permits but must first submit the necessary information to DEP and, upon their approval, DEP will authorize the Town to issue the permits. Mr. Willett stated that DEP 'is in the process of reviewing the information; he estimated it would be 30 i days until permits are issued. Mr. Paul DeRensis stated that the Town has the right to contest any arbitrary action by DEP, but preliminary indications were that everything would work out well. Recommendation that DPW Superintendent Sign Pending State Sewer Extension Permit Applications: Mr. Viera read DPW Superintendent Jeff Willett's memo and attached proposed authorization. Mr. Viera moved approval of authorizing the DPW Superintendent to sign the pending State Sewer Extension Permits. Seconded by Mr. McLaughlin. So voted. Request for Approval of Temporary In-Ground Septic System for Seven Lot Subdivision for Hawks Circle Subdivision: Mr. Viera read Health Inspector Richard Ray's memo dated September 11, 1989 recommending approval subject to conditions. Mr. McLaughlin moved approval to grant a temporary in-ground septic installation subject to obtaining the Low Beach Road sewer connections when available and that each lot must connect to a functioning abutting sewer line discharging at the Siasconset Sewer Facility within six months of availability I (active operation) of the Low Beach Road sewer line. Attorney David Moretti, representing the applicant, agreed to the conditions. Seconded by Ms. Coombs. So voted.
