BOARD OF HEALTH
The Minutes of the Meeting of September 7, 1988 at 7:30 PM. The Meeting
took place in the Selectmen's Hearing Room, Town and County Building,
Nantucket, MA 02554. All Members were present with the exception of
Mr. Clute. Chairman Cabot opened the meeting at 7:31 PM.
Mrs. Sevrens motioned approval of the Minutes of August 31, 1988 at 7:30
PM. Seconded by Mr. Viera. So voted. It was noted that the reading
of said Minutes was waived.
Health Inspector, Richard Ray, was present to announce that the Seafest
is to take place Saturday, September 10, 1988 at Children's Beach; he
added that there will be a booth sponsored by the Harbor Advisory Commission.
Mr. Ray also announced that tomorrow (September 8, 1988) was the first
day of school; he urged people to drive carefully when the buses are
loading and unloading.
Mr. McLaughlin asked Mr. Ray how the beach cleanup had gone. Mr. Ray
stated that a tremendous amount of trash had been cleaned up, and that
some medical waste had been turned in.
There being no further business before the Board, Chairman Cabot adjourned
the meeting at 7:36 PM to reopen as the Board of Selectmen.
