BOARD OF HEALTH
The minutes of the meeting of Wednesday, August 31, 1988 at 7:30 PM. The
meeting took place in the Selectmen's Hearing Room, Town and County Building,
Nantucket, MA 02554. All the Selectmen were present with the exception
of Bud Clute. Chairman Cabot opened the meeting at 8:23 PM.
Mr. Viera moved approval of the Minutes of the Meeting of August 10, 1988
at 7:30 PM and August 17, 1988 at 7:30 PM; seconded by Mrs. Sevrens. So
voted. Reading of the Minutes was waived.
Mr. Steve Scannell presented a letter on the philosophical questions and
the legal points related to salt ponds, for a proposed committee. Mr. Viera
said that Mr. Clute has been speaking to Mrs. Greenhill about a study to
be done; he suggested that perhaps at some point a committee would be worthwhile.
Mrs. Sevrens agreed with this. Mr. Scannell suggested that the study committee
could review the information from the consultants preparing the report.
Mr. Viera made a motion to form and advertise a Pond Opening Advisory Committee

pf seven persons. Mr. McLaughlin seconded the motion. So voted.
here being no further business before the Board of Health, Chairman Cabot
equested unamimous approval to adjourn the meeting at 8:29 PM to reopen
s the Board of Selectmen.
