HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-04-06 OOARD OF HEAL'lH I The Minutes of the Meeting of Wednesday, April 6, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. The Meeting i took place in the Selectmen's Hearing Room, Town and County Building, Nantucket, 111, Ma. 02554. All members of the Board were present. Chairman Cabot opened the ! 'liiMeeting at 7:30 p.m. I illl A varience request came before the Board for a failed Septic System of Paul Bennttt, Washington Avenue, Madaket. Inspector Ray gave a favorable recommendation and I mentioned that this was an emergency situation and that there is a 40 ft. separ-i ation now and that it would be relocated to 86 ft. Mr. Clute moved approval; seconded by Mr. McLaughlin. So voted. I Inspector Ray commenced a discussion on Tick Tubes to abolish Deer Ticks which carries Lime Disease. He mentioned that with financial constraints on the Town, the Health Department could not provide the Town with the Tubes and commented that the Loudman Co. in Cotuit would sell the tubes by the case. One case at $209. would be sufficient for 1 acre of land. He added that the Deer Tick is commonly found on the White Footed Deer Mouse and that the cotton in the Tubes would not harm the mouse, only the ticks, he also said that the cotton was non- toxic to mammals and birds. Shaw, 117 Baxter Siasconset was tabled until April 27, 1988 to refer to Town Counsel. moved to table; seconded by Mrs. Sevrens. So voted. Road, Mr. Viera There being no further business before the Board, Chairman Cabot adjourned the Meeting at 8:51 p.m. to open as the Board of Selectmen.
