I: Meeting was held in the Selectmen's Hearing Room, 16 Broad Street, Town

The Meeting opended as the Board of Health. A discussion commenced regarding
Regulations of Variance Sections. Said Section Variances are an addition to
the existion Regulations for the Town of Nantucket. Said Sections allows the
Board to grant variance from Specific Regulations. Mr. Ray, the Health Inspec-
tor, commented that said sections utilized the same language that is stated in
the State Environmental Code, but adopted for local government. Mr. Clute moved
to accept said variances as written (see Appendix A.)i Seconded by Mrs. Sevrens.

'90.00 Varience
90.01 Varience permitted. The Board of Health may vary the application of any
provision of these regulations with respect to any paricular case when, in its
opinion, the enforcement thereof would do manifest injustice; providedthat the
decision of the Board of Health shall not conflict with the spirit of any min'
standard established by this Code. Any variance granted by the Board of Health
shall be in writing. A copy of any such variance shall while it is in effect,
be available to the public at all reasonable hours in the office of the clerk of
of the city or town, or in the office of the Board of Health, and notice of the
grant of variance shall be filed with the Commissioner of Public Health of the
Commonwealth.
90.02 Expiration, Modification, Suspension. Any variance or other modification
authorized to be made by this article may be subject to such qualification rev-
ocation, suspension, or expiration as the Board of Health expresses in its grant
