HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-08-12 OOARD OF HEAL'lH THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING ON AUGUST 12, 1987 Chainnan Cabot brought the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. All Board members were present. Mrs. Sevrens read a letter from Health Inspector Richard Ray requesting a varian e from Madaket regulations in order to relocate a failed well. Mr. Ray said this was the reverse of the normal procedure since the well was no longer functioning. i Mr. Clute moved approval of a variance from Madaket regulations for John Stovall I !.of 312 Madaket Road. Seconded by Mrs. Sevrens. So voted. I IIMr. Clute moved approval of a Town Well easement in a "green belt area" for I Harold S. Morrow. Seconded by Mr. Gardner. So voted. I' Iii 'i!!MrS. Sevrens read a letter from 24 Town, Couty, and Court employees concerned ililabout the asbestos level in the Town Building. '.ll'Mrs. Sevrens also read Assistant Executive Secretary, Jennifer Imhoff I s memo to :1 the Board concerning the Aesbesto Cmrnission' s impending visit to inspect the I: Building. . Inspector Ray from a letter from Kathleen Harvey an occupational hygeine Enginee for the Cmrnonwealth, who stated "the materiasl on the ceiling of ... Building is cementious, in good condition and has a low percentage of Mr. Ray stated that the asbestos was encapulated and if any holes are ceiling he emmdiately covers them with a rubber based paint. The white stuff found in the building is dust or sloff tested to be non-asbestos, stated Mr. Ray. Mr. McLaughlin asked Mr. Ray if all restaurants have greaseTraps . Mr. Ray stated that all restaurant who required a grease trap were in compliance with health regulations.
