Minutes of July 16. 1986 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Cabot; all members werel
present. Mrs. Sevrens moved aDDroval of the minutes of Julv 9. 1986 meetina:
seconded by Mr. Clute; so voted. Mr. Cabot announced that the meeting of July
30, 1986 will be re-scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Mr. Cabot then noted that, as concerns
publicized questioning of the work performed by the Health Department under the:

supervision of Inspector Richard Ray, the Board of Health fully supports and stands
behind Mr. Ray and his work.
The Planning COmmission recommended the Board's adoption of necessary amendments
to strengthen the existin re ulati Chemical Tanks
(see attachment). Mr. John Stackpole noted that the Commission is try~n to
find an alternate means of protection from leaks, as approved by both Federal
land State Governments. MR. CLute moved approval; seconded by Mr. Grossman; so
voted.
Mr. Richard Ray then reviewed the current Fecal Coliform readings and requested:
the Board's approval to request the Department of Puclic Works plug the storm
drain pipe from the Lily Pond to the Chilrlrpn'~ Rp~~n. ~s soon as possible; Mr.
Clute so moved; seconded by Mr. Gardner; so voted.
Mr. Grossman read a letter concerning state funding for Hazardous Wa3te collectibn
Ithrough DEQE's "Operation Clean Sweep~. Nantucket's application for funding und~r
Ithe pilot phase of this program has teen accepted.
