Minutes of December 18, 1985 Meeting
Chairman Gardner called the meeting to order at 7: 31 p.m. All memBers were
present with the exception of Mr. Clute.
A notion for the approval of December 11, 1985 meeting minutes was made by
Mr. Cabot; seconded by }-lr. Grossman; so voted.
In a letter sul::roitted to the Board, as read by HI'. Cabot, recornnendations
were presented from the Long Range Solid ~-vaste Disposal Study Ccmnittee
concerning disposal of scrap metal. Guidelines were set concerning size and
type of scrap metals to be accepted at the landfill after March 1, 1986.
Donald Oliver, Superintendent of Public WOrks, advised the Board, that by
waiting until March 1, 1986 to initiate these changes, residents would have
the opportunity to rid their property of the specified items -- a kind of
"spring clean-up" -- before the regulations go into effect. Mrs. Sevrens
noved to approve the guidelines as sul:mitted; seconded by Mr. Grossman, with
the stipulation that, when published in the I & M, the word "METAL" be
inserted before the word "FURNITURE" in item #5; so voted.
I There being no further business before the Board, !\lr. Cabot rroved to adjourn
II at 7:35 p.m.; seconded by Mr. Grossman; so voted.
