HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-08-28 L BOARD OF HEALTH Minutes of August 28, 1985 Meeting The Board of Health's meeting corrmenced at 7:49 p.m. All members were in attendance. The minutes of the August 21, 1985 meeting were accepted as typed and reading of the same was waived on a motion from Skip Cal::ot, seconded by Bud Clute, so voted. Public Hearing: Violation of Disposal of Shellfish Shells at 104 Bain Street: i Richard Ray, Health Inspector, recarmended the Board find the owners in I I violation of the BOH regulation: "No shellfish shells will be deposited within one and a half miles from the Pacific National Bank, except in an area designated by the Board of Health." Mr. Ray recommended that the shells be renoved and a fine of $50.00 be imposed. I Mr. Steve Moore stated that he felt this was a knit picky situation and felt I that the shells no longer smelled and should not have to be renoved. The I Board stated that the smell was not the only issued, it was a health hazard ! because of the attraction of bugs and rats. Mrs. Kilvert of 105 Main Street I thanked Richard Ray, the DPW, and the Police in their efforts to try and resolve this situation. Mr. Reginald Marden, owner of 104 Main Street, stated that he hired Warren Valero to dump the shells, and he then authorized him to , spread lime and a bug chemical on them. Skip Cal::ot moved to accept Mr. Ray IS III recomnendation to impose a $50.00 fine and that the shells be renoved within I 24 hours, seconded by Bernie Grossman, so voted.
