HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-07-17 'I BOARD OF HEALTH Minutes of July 17, 1985 Meeting The Board of Health's meeting conmenced at 8:36 p.m. All rrembers were present. The Minutes of the July 10, 1985 meeting 'Were accepted and typed and reading of the same was waived on a notion from Skip Cal:x>t, seconded by Bud Clute, so voted. Proposed Drainage System for W::x:xfuury lane Subdivision: Health Inspector Richard Ray recorrmended to the Board of Health that it issue an unfavorable opinion concerning the proposed under drain and injection 'Well system for the Woodbury subdivision on North Liberty Street. He explains that they plan to engineer a system to collect run off water (which collects forms of ba.cteria, nitrates, pesticides and heavy metal, etc.) and inject it into the soil towards the areas I water lens degrading the quality of ground water. Bernie Grossman rrade the notion to accept Richard Ray's recornnendation, seconded by Bud Clute, so voted. I Request to sell Nantucket Sound Caught Fish on Main Street: Bruce Francis is requesting pennission to sell fish caught in Nantucket Sound fran the Mount Vernon truck on Main Street. Bud Clute rrade the recorrmendation to accept Mr. Francis' request subject to Richard Ray's inspection, seconded by Skip Cabot, so voted. Richard Ray reported on status of the water pollution at Children's beach and stated that after a large rain the colifonn level was too high to count and suggested that the beach be closed after each rain until colifonn count lowered . Richard Ray suggested that Francis Street Beach rema.in closed. The Board recomnended that a sign be installed forbidding bathing and suggesting other beaches for swirrming. Being no further business before the Board of Health, Skip Cal:x>t noved to adjourn at 8:55, seconded by Bud Clute, so voted. I' Executive Session: Bernie Grossman noved to convene to Executive Session as the Board of Selectmen to discuss a possible litigation and to discuss III! the Police Chief I s contract, so voted.
