HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-07-10 II BOARD OF HEALTH Minutes of July 10, 1985 Meeting The Board of Health's meeting corrmenced at 7:30 p.m. Bernie Grossman was absent from the meeting, all other members were present. Minutes of July 2, 1985 were accepted and tyPed and reading of the same was waived on a notion from Skip Cal:x:>t, seconded by Bud Clute, so voted. Francis Street and Childrens Beach: Richard Ray, Health Inspector, was present and reported that the colifonn level at Children's Beach was down and felt the problem may be caused after a heavy rain fall. He will test the Beach after the next rain fall to hopeful 1 y prove this. He requested that the Beach be reopened. Skip Cal:x:>t noved to accept Richard Ray's recarrmendation, seconded by Bud Clute, so voted. I Francis Street Beach still had a high colifonn level of 2600. He has tested 30 houses in the area with negative results. He will begin testing the rvbnonoy area and the Island Home area. Francis Street Beach will rema.in closed. The Boat Basin was high in colifonn counts and Richard Ray feels this is due to boats dumping and the lack of circulation of the water in that area. The Anchorage was good and Jetties Beach had no colifonn counts. Ibn Oliver reported there was a lot of grease in the sewer lines. Richard Ray stated that all new restaurants must have grease traps installed. He is proposing to the Board of Health that all restaurants have grease traps installed before next summer. - Mr. Ray also proposed that there be a by-law regarding POOper scoopers.
