BOARD OF HEALTH
Minutes of June 12, 1985 Meeting
The Board of Health meeting comnenced at 7:30 p.m. All members were present.
Minutes of the May , 1985 meeting were approved as typed and reading of
the same was waived on a ITDtion from Skip Ca.l:xJt, seconded by Bud Clute, so
voted.
SWinming Accidents: Dr. Lepore was present to discuss the danger of swinming
on the South side beaches ie. Nobadeer, Cisco, and Surfside. He asked the
Board to post signs in the area warning of dangerou undertoe and surf and
hoped for publicity on the subject. possible "High Surf in the Area" Signs.
The Board said they would do everything they could to warn the public and
hoped the Inquirer and Mirror 'MJuld publicize Dr. Lepores concerns.
Discussed the tick problem and said the tick conmi ttee would begin to look
at the problem and hopefully would find solutions.
Trailer Habitation Approval Sought: Health Inspector Ray recorrmended approval
of Mary Coughlin's request for. a trailor located as the construction site
contingent upon: 1) location on owner's complete in-ground septic system and
2) connection to an approved well feeding into a hot/cold running water
situation in the trailer.
Bernard Grossman ITDved approval of Ray's recarnnendation, seconded by Skip Ca.l:xJti,
so voted. To be reviewed in September and owners will need to come back for
approval if their house is not complete.
Failed Septic System: Heal th Inspector Richard Ray recorrmended approval of
a variance from Madaket Regulations for an existing dwelling at Tennessee
Avenue in Madaket for a failed septic system and asked the Board to declare
it an emergency situation so work could take place imnediately.

Bud Clute ITDved to approve, seconded by Skip Ca.l:xJt, so voted.
No further business for the Board of Health, Skip Ca.l:xJt ITDved to adjourn at
8:00 p.m., seconded by Bud Clute, so voted.
