HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-07-18 BOARD OF HEALTH Minutes of July 18, 1984 Meeting The Board of Health meeting commenced at 7:30 p.m. All members were present. Skip Cabot moved to accept the minutes of July 11, 1984 as typed and waive the reading of the same, seconded by Bud Clute, so voted. Madaket Regulations Variance Request: Lot 386 Starbuck Road; William Crandall, owner: A letter was read from the Health Inspector recommending that the Board grant a variance from the Madaket Regulations requirement of 150 feet between well and leach facility. Only 135 feet is available in the instant case. He noted that the well -- not the leach facility -- in this request which has failed, but that "the proposed well location is the maximum distance attainable from all leach facilities in the area." Mr. Ray was present to add that the septic is in tact and the new well could only improve the situation. Bud Clute moved approval, seconded by Nancy Sevrens, so voted. Variance from Madaket Regulations: Walter and Priscilla Brown: Massachusetts Ave. Letter from DEQE approving 100 foot variance subject to the following conditions: 1. The wells are tested and found to be chemically and bacteriologically safe for human consumption, 2. there is no increase in sewage flow to the repaired system. 3. The repaired leaching facility or any future leaching area will not be located closer to the existing wells than existed between the failed system and existing wells. Richard Ray, Health Inspector recommended granting this variance based on DEQE's findings. Jack Gardner moved approval, seconded by Skip Cabot, so voted.
