Minutes of the November 2, 1983 meeting were accepted as typed, and reading of the same was waived on a motion by Skip Cabot, seconded by Bud Clute, so voted. Variance Request from Madaket Septic System Regulations: Existng Dwelling on Starbuck Road: Clark Whitcomb, owner: Letter read from the Health Inspector Richard L. Ray recommending that the Board grant the following variance for the relocation of a failed septic system: Madaket regulation #1 states that the distance between well and leach facilities will be 150 feet. Current distances from the leach facility are 50 feet from his own well and 105 feet from an abutter's. The proposed relocation effects a "substantial improvement in distances between all wells and leach facilities in the immeidate area." He further wrote although not strictly adherant to the Madaket Regulations due to the restriction of lot size, I feel this is a marked improvement over the existing system and satisfies the environmental intent of the Madaket regulations. Skip Cabot moved approval, seconded by Bud Clute, so voted. Subdivision Approval: 2 lots on Oakland Street: Lindsey Perry, owner: Letter read fr.om Health Inspector Richard L. Ray with the following observations on the above-noted subdivision: 1. Both lots are acceptable for septic system application. 2. Both lots should be reperced when definitive dwelling locations are selected. 3. Leach trenches should be installed to minimize potential nitrate contam- ination of the water level. Bernard Grossman moved approval of Mr. Ray's recommendations, seconded by Bud Clute, so voted. Bernard Grossman then moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Bud Clute, so voted. Meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m. BOARD OF SELECTMEN ./ ~L~~t7~-, /f::;~~Z/U'., lrenneth W. Holdg. te , r. . Chairman
