HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-10-07 1/ BOARD OF HEALTH Minutes of the Meeting of October 7, 1981 The regular meeting of the Board of Health was called to order at 7:36 p.m. by Chairman Holdgate. All members were present except Selectman Bernard Gross- man. The minutes of the Meeting of September 30, 1981 were accepted as typed. I Variance Request; Taylor: Letter received and read from Health Inspector Richard L. Ray recommending that the Board grant variances from several subsec- tions of the State Sanitory Code (Subsurface Sewage Disposal) and Madaket Regu- ,lations for parcel 73, Baltimore Street, Madaket, property owner Millie Taylor. IHis letter also states that the State Department of Environmental Quality Engi- neering (DEQE) has already granted prior written approval of same. Don Oliver asked Richard Ray if DEQE had, in fact, already approved. Richard Ray stated that the only thing DEQE has to previously approve is when there is less than one hundred (100) feet between leach and facilities, as in this case, and yes, it has been approved. Richard Ray also stated that the procedure will have to be posted for such granting of a variance in the Town Building on the bulletin board for thirty (30) days before she can begin abutting. Don Oliver so moved Richard Ray's recommendations. Seconded by Roger Young. So voted. I : II The Deli; Truck Permit Request: Letter received and read from Myra Fien i of The Deli, 9 South Water Street, requesting a common victuallers truck license I . for the year commencing May 1, 1982. The letter states that it is their intention to operate a vehicular food service as an adjunct to their business and travel daily to those beach areas not alread served by existing concessions. Statements from Richard L. Ray, Health Inspector, that the truck will have to be inspected by him and a common victuallers license will have to be issued. He stated that he had approached the Board about looking into a Common Victualler Truck License. Jack Gardner moved to issue the license. Roger Young moved to table until May of 1982. Richard Ray stated that all the other truck licenses are seasonal. Roger Young stated that we should give consideration to the other existing truck services before issuing a license to The Deli. Jack Gardner stated that there was another truck which serviced Nobadeer. Richard Ray stated that if this is tabled, that there might be a problem for The Deli because if permission was granted, they would have the winter to obtain a truck and get it ready for the season. Jack Gardner motioned to issue a common victuallers Deli effective January 1, 1982. Seconded by Don Oliver. Favored by the Chair. So voted. truck license to The I Opposed by Roger Youngr III Fourteenth Annual Massachusetts Health Officers' Association Health Confer- ence: Letter received and read from Richard L. Ray, Health Officer, reques~- ing permission to attend the Fourteenth Annual Massachusetts Health Officers' I Association Health Conference to be held on October 15, and 16 in North Falmouth~ I Massachusetts. The letter stated that this would necessitate closing his office I I for those days. Jack Gardner motioned to approve Richard Ray's request to attend the confer~ ence. Seconded by Roger Young. So voted. Roger Young wished to talk about the issuing of a license to The Deli and asked what the fee would be. Chairman Holdgate stated that the fee will be subject to change. Richard Ray stated that the fee is set by the State and as of now is at highest level which is $25.00.
