BOARD OF HEALTH
Meeti ng of Apri 1 1 , 1981
The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Holdgate. Mr. Gardner,
Mr. Knott and Mr. Oliver were present for the meeting. Mr. Young was absent.
Mr. Gardner made a motion that the minutes be approved as written and the
reading thereof be waived. Mr. Knott seconded, so voted 3-0.
Health Officer, Richard Ray, asked that the item OB 9 of the Selectmen1s
Agenda be brought before the Board of Health regarding proposed regulations
for wells. Mr. Knott asked what the story was on this. Mr. Ray stated that
there was a problem with wells going in without prior approval and that the
Water Resources Department of the State of Massachusetts has very few
rules and regulations governing wells. He noted that both he and Mr.
Chaleki were interested in going over the revised rules submitted two
months ago with the Board. Mr. Gardner suggested that the Board meet with
Mr. Ray and Mr. Chaleki as soon as possible at 4:15 on a day to be agreed
upon. Mr. Ray indicated that he would like a letter to go out to engineers
of septic systems and installers.
There being no further business before the Board, Mr. Gardner made a motion
to adiourn, Mr. Knott seconded, so voted 3-0.
